The following policies of Beth Rapha Christian College and Theological Seminary (BRCC) were adopted and officially instituted September 2011.
Policies of our college are scrutinized and accepted by an official Policy Board made up of no less than three members of the Executive Administrative staff and/or legal counsel within the seminary community.
Tuition / Fees Payment Policy
Students are expected to pay tuition and fees in full upon registration for classes. We encourage all students to pay using the online payment system.
Students not completing payment upon registration are required to do so prior to the end of the 2nd week of classes which ends the drop / add period. Students failing to meet financial obligations by this time will be dropped from all classes and deemed unable to receive transcripts or grades.
In the event of hardship cases, students must be approved to register as either âexempt from paymentâ and/or with a payment plan instituted and agreed upon by the student and the vice president of Academic Affairs.
There will be no further exceptions to these guidelines.
Add/Drop Policy
The drop / add period ends on the Friday of the 2nd week of all quarters.
To officially drop a class the student must notify their instructor(s) by email as well as the admissions officer @ pbean@bethraphaseminary.org.
Notification to drop classes is a REQUIREMENT. Students failing to notify the college officials will be carried on the rolls and expected to pay full tuition and fees for that respective quarter.
If students drop classes before the drop/add period expires, the following is in effect:
First week refund 100% of tuition
Second week refund 75% of tuition
Third week and thereafter no refund of tuition
*Please note, all application and administrative fees are non-refundable.
 Student Transfer Credit Policies:
Transfer Credits for Grandfathered Students:
All students admitted prior to the official installation of our seminary in January 2011, are considered to have been âgrandfatheredâ into Beth Rapha Christian College and Theological Seminary.
The previous schedule for transfer credits did not assign credits to courses. In lieu of that, our seminary has adopted the 33 hours of “core courses” (initially required for all students) into all bachelorâs degree programs. As well, we have assigned an additional nine hours of credits towards the degree through our Prerequisite Program Requirements (PPR).
Graduate students that were grandfathered in received no exemptions. They were required to take all scheduled classes from the “core courses” throughout the master’s and/or doctoral degree programs.
Transfer Credits for all students enrolled after January 2011:
Transfer credits for all students enrolling after January 1, 2011, will be scrutinized by the deans of the respective schools. Credit awards will be determined on the basis of credibility of the program, correlation of courses to courses, and mandatory requirements of each respective course of study (i.e. â for some programs certain courses may not be substituted). Credit awards will be determined at the onset of the studentâs coursework.
A maximum of 18 credit hours may be transferred for bachelorâs degrees.
Transfer credits for Graduate students as of January 2011, may not exceed 12 credit hours. As well, any Graduate students enrolling with Undergraduate or Masters degrees not related to Biblical Studies will be required to take 12 hours of the “core courses” prior to official acceptance into graduate programs.
Ministry Life Experience (MLE) Credits for Students:
Only bachelorâs degree students are eligible to receive MLE credits; which may not exceed 18 credit hours.
All MLE credits must be assigned to specific courses. Each studentâs credits will be scrutinized by the deans of the respective schools and/or their designees, with final approval from the vice president of Academic Affairs.
Graduate level students are currently ineligible to receive MLE credits due to the nature of the degrees sought. However, consideration will be given in cases where extraordinary ministerial preparation is evidenced.
Course Credits for Instructors:
When instructors teach classes, they are given course credits for those classes as a benefit for research and expository services rendered. They will not be billed for the classes they teach. However, they can only receive credit once for the same class.
Course Credits for the Dean of Programs:
Course credits are awarded to the dean of programs at satellite campuses at no cost to the dean as a benefit for administrative, academic, and technical services rendered. In exchange for professional expertise, from time to time credits may also be awarded to executive level staff members at the discretion of the president and vice president for Academic Affairs at the seminary (*See Satellite Campuses).
